Ok this is just a "vent" post. And really, not very important but I've got to get this off of my chest.

I can't stand "modern" maternity clothes!!! I couldn't find any t-shirts that had "regular" length sleeves, they are all those 1/4 length or whatever they are called. I'm sorry, but not only do my arms feel naked but I don't want everyone seeing my "flabby" arms. I'm scouring ebay right now looking for something from the last couple of years that I might actually WANT to wear. I guess I'll have to try and sell those 5 t-shirts that I just bought last week cuz I just can't stand them! Also, what's up with the little "belly band" jeans now? Whatever happened to the full belly panel??? I'm so frustrated, I'm not about to be one of those moms that walks around with her belly hanging out of the bottom of her little tank top that says "HOT MAMMA" in rhinestones! At Walmart the only thing they had in the way of Maternity t-shirts were ones that had silly sayings like, "You're bothering us". Give me some REAL clothes people!

Ok, done venting now. Back to your regular programming....

Well, in the previous post I have to go back and remove the thinking of you not being extreme... LOL I am glad there isn't an "o" in your name for OPINIONATED. Just kidding.
Girl, I know you can sew - why aren't you going that direction? You can get a few simple patterns and make a few that you are happy with and have them for awhile. I know it's more effort than buying them, but at least you'll have what YOU want. I happen to like the cute little sleeves - not that my arms would look cute in them, but when you are PG, you are ALLOWED to be heavy! When I am out running around the malls here I will check out the different "lines" - being a "cold" state, we may have a longer sleeve line or pants line than you do (no one wants a frozen belly up here!) - but WHO KNOWS, and it doesn't hurt to try. What size/shape should/do I look for?

All I have to say is this post made me laugh. It's one of those little things in life that can just drive you to the crazy farm! And the worst part is- you'll be pulling up the crazy farm AFTER my car has already arrived!

Here's my question of the day (because I have never been PG so I am NOT educated in this department): I know you are wanting longer shirts (sleeves and length) so if they shirt is longer isn't it okay to have the partial belly pants? Just curious cause I was looking at oldnavy.com and they have some CUTE stuff (and shipping is only $5- it was all in the SALE department!)

I tried sewing maternity clothes when I was pg with Brandon. It's just such a pain, and it's actually more expensive than just buying something.

Becky, you said that I'm allowed to be heavy cuz I'm pg, that's true but I'm ONLY 5 weeks. I feel "unworthy" or something to be wearing maternity clothes so early. The problem was that I was in my "fat" clothes and now I've outgrown those in the last week. Well my jeans anyway. I can't even button them up....

The thing with the "belly band" as opposed to the belly panel is that even though your shirt might cover it, the belly panel gives extra support. And, with me picking up Matty and such I think my belly would end up showing. I don't know, I think I'd just feel naked!

I'll check out Old Navy and see what's going on over there. Didn't think about that last night when I was surfing.

Thanks Beck.

I had this very same problem. The styles went crazy from 2001 (when I was pregnant with Zander) to 2005 (pregnant with Stacia). Some folks LOVE those little band things...they were uncomfortable to me and when the fitted shirts went UP they showed my tummy - which I don't like at any time....

I finally hit on buying stretchy jeans and capris in the "women's" section...you know the 2W etc ones....bigger than my normal size but being stretchy they grew with me...and didn't look baggy...and then if my tops eased up I was "covered". I also found that buyign some used things was still a good option.

It's seems that these days folks buy two sets of maternity clothes too. That blew me away. Since everything is fitted there is no way that something you buy NOW will fit you at say 7 months. LOL

But really - it's a fun problem to have.

Now you must be daring and get the hot mama shirt and be belly baring, LOL. Maybe you can find some "older" read decent maternity clothes in a second hand type store.
